How to Transfer Your Gas Connection When Moving

Your LPG gas connection needs a little paperwork when you move. Handling it early avoids being without gas at your new home.

Moving within the same city

• If you're staying with the same distributor, just update your address — carry your consumer number, ID and new address proof.
• If the area falls under a different distributor of the same company, request a transfer at your current agency.

Moving to another city

• Surrender your connection at the current distributor and collect a Termination Voucher / Subscription Voucher (SV).
• At your new city, take the SV, ID and address proof to a distributor of the same company to get a new connection.
• Keep the SV safe — it carries your security-deposit value.

Safety on move day

Never load a full LPG cylinder into a packed goods truck — it's unsafe and most movers won't carry it. Get the cylinder collected/surrendered separately. On Packerwala, tell your mover in advance so nothing hazardous goes into the load.
